Hello,

Recently KAS1.4TRUCKDRIVER sent me a list of his ideas to improve the forum. It's very good formalized and detailed document. So I think it's a good idea to share it with other moderators and discuss some ideas listed there.

Here's this document - files.fm/u/k9pjn97q

I already performed some things listed there:

- I cleaned the General section by reducing the number of pinned threads.
- I updated the forum rules and duplicated them in this section of the forum.

What I think about the rest:

- About the paid mods. As I already said a long time ago, paid mods were not welcomed here. We do not support this activity and kindly ask you not to turn the forum to a trading platform. You can discuss the mods, but please do not post any trading information (prices, URLs to purchase, etc.).

- About the rest ideas in the end of the documents:

a. If you think we need any new forum games or any new topic for discussion - just feel free to create them.

b. Regarding the better help from the developers with the modding. Are there any specific questions on the forum, which I missed? I'm not sure about the tutorials, but I think we can manage some specific questions.

Thanks for sharing and making the changes so fast!

about the modding questions, I've got a questions about it.

- what software are you guys using to get the car models ingame and prepared? are you also using 3ds max 9?

Also: I'll keep updating this file, I'll add new idea's from myslef and others to the document so we can keep the forum growing in the future.

I think this is a really cool project. I think that overall, the point Kas makes about general is true - we need more focus on the "How to tutorials" section since I think that this section could be a lot more helpful if it were expanded beyond modding. I think that a separate sub-section for Tutorials within either the General (English) or General (International) sub-forum could draw more attention to already existing tutorials and reduce the amount of repeated questions we get.

I've gone ahead and unstickied the Mod List - I actually think that the need for something like this is decreasing now that we have Steam workshop access, and thus a large database for most mods.

I've thought of creating as separate "Mod Marketplace" website external of this website to address your concern regarding paid mods. Thoughts on this Kas?

I'll do my best to enforce the swear word rule - I think it is a good idea that will make the forum a better and safer place (I know I don't post a ton, but I am always online, whether I post or not).

1. yeah, more attention to existing tutorials will help I think.

2. I also had some kind of the same idea, but didn't put it in the document, because for now we only have TJ as seller on this forum... I think we should make this as soon as we have 5 sellers or something. then I think this will be a good idea, but we have to make clear rules about the topic and how to sell so people don't get scammed or arguments about payments etc.

3. Thanks! if you need help with anything contact me i'll do my best to help.

Yes, we still use 3DS Max 9. Theoretically, you can use any other version or even other program, but it can cause issues with adapting the model to the game.

Will Nebula update their plug in to newer max versions? Or is it discontinued?
