I originally had city car driving 1.2.2 installed and wanted to update so I did so today to the new 1.2.5 but have lost my activation info completely which I received when I purchased 1.2.2. Does anyone know how to retrieve this info or update without it?

The car simulator "City Car Driving" is not a free game. If you wish to use it, you should buy a serial number for it. You can buy the one here - citycardriving.com/buy/citycardriving
In the E-mail sent to you after purchase, there will be a link to download the installation file, and another for activation.
